Angola Redevelopment Commission elects Eric Yoder president; Mark Cohen and Carrie Wilson named officers

The Angola Redevelopment Commission chose its 2026 leadership in a brief vote during its January meeting, confirming Eric Yoder as president, Mark Cohen as vice president and Carrie Wilson as secretary, and affirming Ryan Herbert as treasurer.

The nominations came from Commissioner Quincy, who said, "I'd, like to nominate Eric Yoder as for president," with each nomination seconded and approved by voice vote, according to the meeting record. Quincy noted he voted yes for all the nominations. The commission did not record a roll-call tally; votes were taken by voice and passed without recorded opposition.

The nominations followed a discussion about eligibility rules in the commission's governing materials. Members noted a 2023 amendment in the redevelopment handbook that prevents the president and vice president being appointed by the same appointing body, a constraint the commission said it had to respect when selecting officers.

The meeting chair confirmed Ryan Herbert remains the commission treasurer by prior nomination. No contested races were recorded, and commissioners said the slate was intended to maintain continuity while the group moves to work on 2026 initiatives.

The commission concluded the session by confirming the election outcomes and moving on to agenda items focused on TIF funding priorities and outreach plans for 2026.
