Haddon Township outlines preschool registration, fees and immunization requirements as enrollment rebounds

Haddon Township School District officials told parents at a preschool information session that preschool enrollment is "thriving" and reviewed how families can register, pay required deposits and meet state immunization rules. Unidentified Speaker (S1) said the district currently serves about 2,100 students and noted that strong enrollment matters to district funding.

Assistant Superintendent Sean Pelschor walked families through registration logistics and dates, saying, "Preschool roundup is gonna be February 3 at a board office from 9 to 3PM," with an evening session on Feb. 4 for families who work during the day. He said the district will post appointment sign-ups and the slideshow on the district website and social media.

Pelschor detailed registration requirements and costs, telling parents that registrations require two proofs of residency and a deposit "which is $500, and that is refundable up until May 29." He also reminded families that "state law requires the following immunizations" for preschool enrollment and that staff will provide specifics at registration.

The district emphasized that preschool placement is not determined by a family's elementary school boundary. Pelschor said preschool assignment is based on overall enrollment and student needs, and while family requests are considered, placement depends on capacity.
