The Placerville Recreation and Parks Commission elected Andre as its 2026 chair and confirmed Commissioner Luhan as vice chair during a voice vote at the start of the meeting. The commission adopted the meeting agenda and approved the minutes from Dec. 15 before the leadership votes.
Vice chair Spencer opened nominations for the chair position. After a nomination and second, the presiding officer called for a voice vote, saying, “All in favor of electing Andre to the next position for Chairman of the Commission for Placerville Parks and Recreation, say aye,” and the aye votes carried. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Potter nominated Commissioner Luhan for vice chair; that nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The leadership changes were procedural items placed at the beginning of the agenda so the newly seated chair could preside over the remainder of the meeting. No motions tied to policies or budgets were taken during the leadership elections.
The commission then continued with the published agenda, including a special‑events review, a banner policy discussion and a department update. The meeting adjourned after hearing all scheduled items.
