The Blue Valley Board of Education on July 21 approved a slate of vendor contracts and district priorities, renewing a contract with Children’s Mercy Hospital that will continue to fund school-based social-work services and adopting the district’s 2025–26 goals.
The meeting opened with recognition of outgoing board president Gina Knapp before the board moved into routine business. Board members approved an amended consent agenda and then approved individual contracts for temporary staffing, technology replacements and facilities services. Deputy Superintendent Kyle Hayden described a preapproval for temporary staffing with a not-to-exceed bid of $1,500,000 to cover custodial, grounds and food-service needs during vacancies, and the board approved the request unanimously.
