Becky Allen, the district official presenting personnel recommendations, introduced four leaders the board was asked to consider for approval: Amy Magnoni for assistant principal at Discovery Canyon Campus Elementary; Ryan Rafferty for assistant principal at Pioneer Elementary; Carrie Mitchell for principal at Academy Endeavor Elementary; and Diana Fricke for director of digital innovation services.
"I am so excited to serve as the assistant principal of Discovery Canyon Elementary," Magnoni said after her introduction, thanking the board and describing her 16 years at Discovery Canyon and her District 20 principal-cohort experience. Allen summarized Magnoni’s credentials, including a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from CSU and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from UCCS.
Ryan Rafferty, introduced as the Pioneer assistant-principal recommendation, thanked the board and cited his service as interim assistant principal and his prior MTSS work. Carrie Mitchell told the board she began her career at Academy Endeavor 24 years ago and said she was honored to continue serving the school community. Diana Fricke described her experience as a library media specialist and technology-integration specialist and said her team seeks to guide meaningful classroom use of technology.
District officials framed the introductions as the recommendation step; the board’s personnel process will include a formal approval mechanism at the appropriate agenda point. Family members and staff were recognized in the meeting room during introductions, and each candidate emphasized supporting teachers and students.
The board’s presentation of candidates concluded with expressions of gratitude from the presenters and the recommended administrators; subsequent minutes and personnel records will show the formal appointment actions and any vote outcomes.
