Person County issues Farm City Week and veterans proclamations; recognizes civic academy graduates

The Person County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 3 approved several routine proclamations and recognitions.
Beau Freeman, the county extension director, presented a proclamation noting Person County has 364 farms covering 88,571 acres and proclaiming Nov. 3–9, 2025 as Farm City Week; the board approved the proclamation by voice vote. In separate action, the board adopted a resolution supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans 2025, encouraging residents and businesses to display green lights Nov. 4–11 to honor veterans.
Kim Strickland presented the fall 2025 Falls Civics Academy program, described field trips and departmental presentations, and received certificates for 13 participants. County leaders thanked staff for supporting the academy and for educational outreach.
These items were approved without dissent and were listed on the consent/regular agenda.
