Putnam County names new board members, forms audit committee and approves records grant

The commission appointed Matthew Young to the Putnam County Tourism Board effective Jan. 13, 2026 (term to June 30, 2027) and Lee McCoy to the Putnam County Dilapidated and Abandoned Enforcement Agency (term to May 10, 2027). The commission also appointed Dr. Jamie Totten to the Putnam County Animal Shelter Board and Doug Pearson to the Putnam County Criminal Justice Board; the county clerk was directed to arrange oaths for appointees.
Commissioners discussed audit planning after the State Auditor's Office requested the county procure its own audit due to staffing limitations; the commission formed an audit committee and designated county staff representation and commission participation to ensure the county meets the audit deadline. The commission also authorized the Commission President to sign necessary documents for the FY 2627 records management grant in the amount of $5,496.95 to purchase 15 scanners and one micro-cut shredder for the county clerk's office.
All nominations and the grant authorization were approved by voice vote during the meeting.
