Commissioners discussed the value of the county owning the adjacent land, noting the county has a lease with the gun club through the year 2100 and law enforcement uses the range for training. A motion to accept the settlement and purchase agreement was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
The commission did not detail follow-up environmental testing or remediation in the motion but framed the purchase as a way to resolve the dispute and place future liability and ownership clarity in county hands. No amendment to the motion was recorded at the meeting.
