Mayor Cahill gave the City Council a quarterly update on Oct. 20, saying multiple capital projects are moving forward while some timing depends on upcoming approvals and third-party work.
Cahill said the McPherson Youth Center is under construction and being funded largely with ARPA dollars and a $1 million federal earmark secured by U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton. "The expectation is it'll be finished and open to the young folks February-ish," he said, adding that the date could reasonably fall in January through March. The mayor told councilors contingency funds built into the project budget are likely to be used; he said current projections indicate those contingencies should cover overruns.
