Mayor Mary Davis announced that the City of Columbiana will host a town hall on Jan. 15 to allow residents to ask questions about a proposed data center and to hear from DigiHost representatives.
The mayor said the session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grand Hall and will include a panel comprised of the council, department heads and representatives from the water, sewer and fire departments. DigiHost representatives will appear on the panel to explain the project and respond to questions. The Shelby County reporter has offered to assist with the format and running of the event, and the city plans to set guidelines to keep the forum orderly and avoid repetitive questions.
"This is the community's opportunity to be informed and ask the questions while everyone is here," Mayor Mary Davis said as she described the format and encouraged attendance. The mayor added that time allotments will be enforced and that the city will ask residents to come prepared so the panel can address a range of community concerns.
