The Jacksonville City Council approved first readings of two ordinances to amend the city's zoning map.
Alderman Scott introduced the first item, a rezoning for property at 409 Hardin Avenue, Suite 202, to B4 with a special use. After a roll-call vote, the measure passed its first reading.
The council then considered a second zoning amendment for 400 East Lafayette Avenue to change its designation from R3 to B1. Alderman Reuben DeSellis seconded the motion to move the ordinance forward; the clerk recorded affirmative roll-call votes and the motion carried on first reading.
Council members recorded aye votes on both first readings; no substantive debate or conditions were entered on the record at the meeting. Both zoning amendments were advanced for subsequent readings as required by local ordinance.
