The Village of Waukesha board voted to extend the compliance deadline for the property at West 261 South 3547 Genesee Road to the December 11 plan commission meeting.
Property owner Merlin Minster and board members discussed ongoing violations documented in inspection photos. Trustees noted the owner had erected a shed without a building permit and that some stored material had previously encroached on the public right of way; Jared, the village building/billing inspector, reported remaining items and kenneling of multiple cats outside as additional issues.
Trustees told Minster that moving the shed to a compliant location and filing the required permit are necessary steps; Jared must sign off on compliance before the extension expires. A trustee moved to extend the deadline to Dec. 11 with a clear warning that citations and fines will begin if the property is not in compliance; the motion was approved with one trustee recorded as opposed.
Board members emphasized that further action will be taken if Jared’s inspection shows noncompliance at the December meeting. The board did not set a different monetary penalty at the meeting but reminded the owner that citations accrue from the date of the initial complaint.
