McKeesport board moves to solicit RFPs for turf replacement, calls for facility assessment

Officials reported several recent completions: the high school auditorium lighting project, a districtwide HVAC control upgrade, and asphalt repairs around the maintenance and weight-room facilities.
No final contract was awarded at the meeting; the RFPs were placed on the agenda for board consideration and follow-up. Board members indicated the assessment study is necessary to determine the scope and cost of long-term repairs and to present options for how to move forward.
The district’s buildings representative said staff will return with recommendations as bids are reviewed and the assessment results are finalized.
