Doral council adopts simpler ticket policy for city events

Mayor Christie Fraga introduced the proposal as an update of a 2014 policy that, she said, had not been consistently followed. "So we decided to come up with a new ticket policy...There's no ambiguity as to how the tickets could be distributed by the administration or by tickets that are given to us as complimentary tickets, which will be handled through my office," Fraga said during the meeting.
City attorneys and staff reviewed the new draft before the vote; Councilwoman Nicole Reynoso moved to approve and the motion passed with a majority vote. The council recorded several dissenting votes but the resolution carried.
The policy change centralizes responsibility for complimentary ticket management and aims to reduce inconsistent practices across city offices, according to the mayor's memo attached to the agenda. Council members who opposed the measure said they had concerns about specific details that were not resolved on the dais; the meeting minutes do not show any amendments to the approved document.
Council members directed staff to implement the policy alongside the city attorney's office. The council did not set a separate follow-up date for a policy review during the meeting.
