Committee adds federal-funds reporting to bill on state assistance to tribes, sends SB 303 forward
Summary

The House State Administration committee voted to add reporting requirements for federal pass-through funds to Senate Bill 303 and passed the bill as amended. Representative Feyant introduced Amendment 2.1, which restores federal funds reporting that had been omitted and adjusts reporting deadlines to address concerns raised in the fiscal note.
Representative Feyant told the committee she worked with the Office of Budget and Planning and proposed November 1 as the reporting deadline for state agencies and December 1 for the Office of Budget and Planning to accommodate agency year-end closeouts. She described the amendment as restoring the bill’s “main point”: accounting for federal funds retained as indirect costs and listing agencies required to report.
The committee adopted the amendment by voice vote and then concurred in the bill as amended. Representative Feyant was asked to carry the measure to the floor.
The committee also asked staff to coordinate on technical language and timing with affected agencies.
