Belleville Marathon presents $7,500 check to Parks and Recreation

Representatives of the Belleville Main Street Marathon appeared before the city council on Jan. 20 to present a $7,500 check to the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department.
Sarah West, co-race director, said the donation is one of the race's "favorite parts" and credited city logistics, volunteers (about 200 each year) and community sponsorships for enabling the contribution. The presenters invited residents to volunteer or sign up to run and noted the full marathon will mark its tenth year.
The council thanked the presenters and recorded the check presentation in the meeting minutes; no formal action beyond acceptance of the presentation was recorded.
