State kiosk changes how Crawford County records driver-license convenience fees

The Crawford County treasurer told supervisors that a state rollout of a new driver-license kiosk and check-in process altered how a small convenience fee appears in county accounting.
"So they started that today," Sherry said, explaining the state is handling check-in and the county's $2,200 convenience fee now routes through state processing and no longer shows up in the county's Tyler reports even though the county still receives the money.
Board members asked how the change affects revenue projections and whether customers can still complete transactions online or must visit a kiosk in person; Sherry said transactions can be done online but the new process will create an adjustment period.
Supervisors requested the treasurer note the change in the revenue timing and to monitor whether collections and reporting reconcile across Tyler and state remittances as the year progresses.
