The council described initiatives including the monthly Plants for Pints plant exchange in New Port Richey and the second annual food summit held on the east side of the county at the One-Stop Shop, which featured tours of a commercial kitchen and a demonstration by local farmer Tanner Kaufman of Theo's Harvest.
FPAC said it reviewed House Bill 89 — legislation that would have eased siting for small grocery stores in underserved areas — and will continue to track food-system and agriculture bills in the 2026 legislative session. The council noted a representative from Congressman Bill Arrakis’ office attended the food summit and expressed support.
FPAC invited the public to monthly meetings at the Land O'Lakes County Utilities Building (next meeting Feb. 13) and announced its 2026 food summit is set for April 16 at Rosebud Continuum. The group also thanked the county’s Planning, Development and Economic Growth department for ongoing support.
