Dolton public commenter urges street be renamed for Alexis Wilson and calls for police records review

"...I'm here as a supporter of the family of Alexis Wilson, who was, killed here in Dalton 4 and a half years ago, brutally killed by the, the Dalton police," Mendez said. The board responded that it would be in communication with the family to discuss options and potential remedies.
No police response or investigation update was provided during the meeting; the request was filed as public comment and the board indicated it would follow up with the Wilson family to explore steps such as a street renaming or other memorialization.
