Council retreats into executive session on litigation, personnel and real estate; returns with no public action

At the close of the Aug. 18 work session, council agreed to move into executive session to discuss litigation, personnel and real estate matters.
Councilman Moon requested the executive session; Councilman Aiken moved to retreat into executive session, Councilman Johnson seconded, and the motion carried 4–0 with two absences (Councilman Usher and Councilman Potts). The mayor noted the meeting was a work session and no action would be taken immediately after the executive session.
After the executive session, Councilman Ake moved to return and Councilmember Collins seconded; the motion to return carried 4–0. No public votes or substantive actions were taken in the open meeting immediately after the executive session.
What’s next: Executive sessions are confidential; any required public action arising from matters discussed would be agendized for a future open meeting as appropriate.
