The McCall City Council on Aug. 14 adopted Resolution 25-20 to recover $80,424 of foregone tax capacity for fiscal year 2026. The recovery is designated for maintenance and operations, and the resolution authorizes the mayor to sign required documents.
Randy Currys, the city finance director, told the council the $80,424 is part of funds the city has accumulated over several decades and that the requested amount is below the statutory limit. He said staff performed the required stand‑alone public notice for the recovery and reviewed the request at a council workshop prior to the hearing.
No members of the public signed up to speak for the hearing and the council received no written comments. After opening and closing the public hearing, Councilor Lyle moved to adopt Resolution 25-20; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Council members Nielsen, Nelson, Machesek and Thrower and Mayor Giles recorded as voting yes.
The council's action restores a portion of the city's taxing capacity for maintenance and operations in FY26. Staff will complete the administrative steps to implement the levy change consistent with the referenced statutory authority.
