City provides progress report on park-bond projects, Little River trail work under way

He said grading for the Little River linear trail has begun and crews may pour concrete "in the next couple of weeks," with a target of completing an in-house trail connector by next summer, weather permitting.
Work on the Roots Creek Trail was described as moving into bridge recommendations following preliminary design review with Falcon Design; staff said right-of-way acquisitions have been completed for several segments. For the Buckhead Trail Crossing, staff rejected all bids earlier in the year and requested value engineering from Falcon Design to identify alternate routes or design changes to control costs.
Council members asked about schedules and environmental permitting; staff said wetlands and creek stabilization permitting have affected timelines for some segments but that design and phasing should allow progress without additional right-of-way needs.
