The Box Elder County Commissioners approved a gravel (pit/run) lease agreement, numbered 25-56, with landowner Jerry Zollinger to provide road base materials for county work on Naff Road. Road Department representative Darren McFarland described the county's rotating multi‑week operations in pits in the Yost area and said the county pays landowners $1 per ton for material as it is hauled.
McFarland said the county averages roughly 30,000 tons per year in a typical rotation and that the county pays the landowner as material is used rather than paying a lump sum up front. Commissioner Vincent moved to approve the Grama Lease Agreement 25‑56 with Jerry Zollinger; the motion was seconded and carried on a voice vote.
County staff will proceed to implement the lease and schedule pit operations as part of the Naff Road rebuild planned for the year.
