Friends of the Crestview Library report increased membership, purchases and community programs

Farnsworth said the volunteer group has grown to more than 30 members and held two successful book sales whose proceeds supported library events. The Friends contributed to Noel Night and to staff lunch at a county library cooperative training day. They purchased three four‑sided picnic tables installed on the library grounds, a popcorn machine and snow‑cone machine for programming, and a display case for items available to patrons. Farnsworth said a LEGO Death Star set was purchased for library programming and helped spark interest among participants in related books.
The group also underwrote a scholarship enabling a county resident to enroll in an online high‑school program, which the Friends described as an investment in adult learning. Farnsworth said the next book sale is scheduled for August at the Crestview Community Center, and the Friends are exploring additional fundraising avenues and continuing to coordinate with the Robert L. F. Sykes Library staff.
