Craven County commissioners voted July 21 to approve a renegotiated land lease with GilGirls LLC for a parcel adjacent to the Bridge convenience center that hosts a communications tower used by AnswerQuick (now operated by GilGirls LLC).
Solid waste staff reported the parcel has hosted the tower for more than 40 years. The previous lease automatically renewed July 30, 2025, at $2,400 per year; the proposed new lease increases the annual payment to $3,600 and sets an expiration date of June 30, 2028. County staff said GilGirls LLC (the business operated by the late owner’s family) remains in good standing with the county.
The board moved, seconded and approved the new lease and authorized the county manager to execute the necessary documents.
