Board upholds superintendent transfer denials and approves personnel, coaching and extra-duty recommendations

After returning from executive session, the Edmond Public Schools Board on July 10 voted to uphold the superintendent's denials of several student transfer requests and approved a slate of personnel recommendations.
The board recorded motions to uphold the superintendent's denial of transfer requests for a series of students (identified in the minutes as Student A, B, C, D, E, F and G). For each item the board motioned to uphold the superintendent's decision; the motions carried on roll-call votes with the board concurring with the superintendent's capacity-based denials as presented.
The board also approved recommended certified personnel actions (Schedule A) and support personnel actions (Schedule B) as presented in the packet. The superintendent recommended Leslie Smith and Grace Castle for middle school assistant-principal positions; the board approved those recommendations. The board also approved a recommended head boys golf coach for Edmond North High School (Todd Kimery), and approved an amended extra-duty schedule for coaches for the 2025–26 school year.
All personnel and coach-schedule approvals were adopted by recorded vote as presented to the board.
