Edmond Public Schools' board approved a consent agenda on July 10 that included a range of operational and contract items: structural repairs at Heartland Middle School, an HVAC unit for Edmond Memorial High School's cafeteria, a pipeline encroachment agreement for property used for two new schools, Zonda demographics services to help draw attendance boundaries, an Incident IQ purchasing-resource module, prom venue dates and memoranda of understanding for school resource officers (SROs).
Facilities: The board approved a retaining-wall repair at the Heartland Middle School track to address erosion and protect the track surface; the project was awarded through the TOPS purchasing contract for $73,615 and funded from bond funds. Board members asked about erosion, geotechnical issues and procurement; staff said earlier estimates had been higher and value engineering reduced the proposed scope.
Also approved was an HVAC replacement for the Memorial High School cafeteria, an item the district said had an approximately 18-week lead time and carries a purchase price of $93,100 to be paid from bond funds.
Pipelines and property: The board approved an encroachment agreement with Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline Inc. for a pipeline that runs through district property near Air Depot and Covell, noting the district will only disturb locations circled on plans and that pipeline owners retain rights within their easement.
Services and software: The board approved Zonda demographics to develop attendance boundaries for the new elementary and middle schools, with community forums and committee review planned. The board also approved purchase of the purchasing/resource module of Incident IQ (about $41,005.57 from technology funds) to track non-technology equipment such as musical instruments and adaptive-technology inventory; staff said Incident IQ implementation for technology and facilities had already begun earlier in the year.
Safety and events: The board approved memoranda of understanding with the City of Edmond Police Department for SRO coverage at secondary schools and with the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office for an SRO at Summit Middle School; the district explained the sheriff's office covers a west-side school outside Edmond city limits. The board also approved venue dates for proms at the University of Central Oklahoma for Edmond Memorial (April 25, 2026) and Edmond Santa Fe (May 2, 2026).
All consent items were approved by recorded roll-call votes as presented.
