The East Baton Rouge Parish Metropolitan Council on June 25 authorized the mayor-president to enter into an access agreement with Half Moon Pictures LLC to allow the Baton Rouge Police Department to participate in the documentary television series currently titled On Patrol Live.
Council members spent more than 40 minutes questioning Police Department leadership, the mayor and legal staff about the series’ format, oversight, control of footage, potential economic impact and privacy protections before approving the contract.
The police chief, who spoke on behalf of the department, said the program is documentary in style and is designed to highlight routine community policing and officers’ non‑enforcement work as much as incident response.
