Kern LAFCO approves Bakersfield annexation, waives protest for East Niles annexation; approves expenses and grand jury response

The Kern County Local Agency Formation Commission on a unanimous or near-unanimous roll call approved several administrative reorganizations and routine fiscal items at its final meeting of the fiscal year.

The commission approved annexation No. 1844, bringing roughly 0.55 acres at the northwest corner of South H Street and Cecil Brunner Drive into the City of Bakersfield, and approved detachment from County Service Area (CSA) 43. The executive officer told commissioners the annexation has 100% landowner consent and meets the Cortese Knox Hertzberg noticing requirements; the commission voted to adopt the environmental notice of exemption and to approve the annexation. Commissioner Fowler moved the motion and Commissioner Saragosa seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous.
