The El Centro City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a motion to cancel its July 1 regular meeting. Council members said the timing coincides with family travel/holidays and that cancelling the meeting allows staff and council members a brief break during a traditionally light period.
The motion to cancel was offered and seconded and passed 5‑0. Council members later noted the next meeting will be an adjourned meeting with a changed format (closed session at 12:30 p.m., open session at 2 p.m.) as posted by the city clerk.
