Rockdale County Schools presented final financial reports for April during the May 20 board meeting. Chief Financial Officer Smith reported April revenues of $10.9 million and year-to-date revenues of $197.6 million, representing 90.5% of the budget. CFO Smith said April revenues in a prior reporting line were $11.3 million and year-to-date $180.2 million, representing 90.1% of the budget (the transcript includes both April 2024 and year-to-date comparisons).
Smith reported expenditures for April of $18.0 million and year-to-date expenditures of $180.4 million, representing 81.3% of budget. The CFO said encumbrances stood at $1,077,130 and the fund balance was $45,732,526, up from $42,628,149 the prior April. On the balance sheet, Smith said assets and fund balance both stood at $45,732,526 and liabilities were cleared.
Smith concluded the financial presentation without requesting board action; the figures were provided for the board’s review. The board later adopted the FY26 tentative budget in a separate vote recorded in open session.
