Board grants first consideration to liquor license for Clove Indian & Nepali Cuisine

At first consideration the Glenview Board of Trustees approved an ordinance amendment to increase the number of Class A liquor licenses from 56 to 57 to allow a new on‑premises liquor license for Clove Indian & Nepali Cuisine at 1827–1829 Waukegan Road.
Staff explained a Class A license authorizes the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises and requires the business operate as a bona fide eating establishment. Owner Ramakanth Karel described the restaurant’s menu and cultural cooking demonstrations; he told the board inspections remain to be completed and estimated an opening in two to four weeks.
Trustee Cooper moved approval and Trustee Sidoti seconded; the board signified aye and the motion carried on first consideration.
Because this was first consideration, the ordinance will return for second reading before final adoption.
