Residents urge public study of gas leaf blowers; village to participate in multi-jurisdiction review

During "matters to be presented to the public" Sept. 2, President Jenny said Glenview will participate in a North Shore multi‑municipal study on the regulation of gas leaf blowers as part of broader sustainability work. Merry Monday of Greener Glenview presented a petition with more than 220 signatures requesting public discussion and emphasized that public education and engagement should be part of the village’s study process.
Board members said staff will coordinate with the ongoing working group and bring the study and recommendations—along with any consultant sustainability-plan recommendations—back to the public and the board for further discussion. There was no vote; trustees agreed to continue coordination and public outreach as the study proceeds.
