Glenview board clears new downtown restaurant liquor license and dog-grooming conditional-use permit

The Glenview Board of Trustees on Jan. 6 approved two business-related items: first consideration (and board approval at the meeting) of an ordinance to increase the number of Class A liquor licenses from 62 to 63 to allow the Foxtail at Glenview House to serve alcohol on the premises, and a conditional-use permit for Scent Hound, a dog-grooming business at 2680 Fowler Drive.
Foxtail at Glenview House: Staff explained that a Class A license authorizes on-premises alcohol sales for bona-fide eating establishments and that the proposed ordinance would increase the village-wide total by one license. David Villegas, managing partner for Foxtail, told the board the restaurant hopes to open in late March or April and described the planned menu and service model. Trustees asked a few brief questions; the board voted to approve the ordinance.
Scent Hound conditional use: Staff noted the tenant space in the northern portion of the Glentown Center and said the Development Adjustments Commission recommended conditional-use approval on a 5–0 vote. Staff reported the business expects six to seven employees, and explained operating hours (7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with typical hours 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) and mitigation measures including acoustic-rated ceiling tiles and additional sound-dampening construction. The board voted to approve the conditional-use permit at full capacity.
Outcome: Both items passed at the Jan. 6 meeting; trustees welcomed the new businesses pending completion of licensing and inspections as required by village code.
