Council approves voluntary annexation of 0.54 acres at 490 Stonyfield Drive

BJ Greve of the Southern Pines Planning Department presented the request on behalf of applicants Dennis and Patsy Reagan, describing that a sewer lateral had been stubbed to serve lots in the adjacent Trawick subdivision and could now serve the Reagan property. Greve said the lateral was installed when the subdivision sewer was constructed and a service connection already exists.
Council closed the public hearing and moved to adopt the annexation ordinance (file referenced in the hearing as Ax-O1-25). The motion passed, and council members welcomed the Reagans as new Southern Pines residents.
The annexation was adopted at the meeting and was announced as effective immediately. No additional public testimony was recorded during the hearing; next steps are administrative processing to record the annexation and allow utility connection.
