Iowa League of Cities honors Mayor Matt Walsh at Council Bluffs study session

Alan Kemp, Executive Director of the Iowa League of Cities, attended the Council Bluffs study session to publicly recognize Mayor Matt Walsh for induction into the League’s Hall of Fame. Kemp said the Hall of Fame, established in 1995 to honor extraordinary public service to local government, inducted two recipients at this year’s conference and that Mayor Walsh was among them.
Kemp noted Walsh previously served as president of the Iowa League of Cities in 2016 and described him as a long-time advocate for municipal issues before the state legislature. "Mayor Walsh is the 60th member of the League’s Hall of Fame," Kemp said at the meeting as he presented congratulations on behalf of the League.
The recognition was brief and ceremonial; council members thanked the League representatives and noted the organization’s role as an advocate for cities large and small.
