Ant highlighted four notable projects: the Lone Tree Creek Trail underpass at Arapahoe Road (purpose: connect north and south trail segments and eliminate an at-grade crossing at Revere Parkway; staff said the project will go to bid in the coming week with construction starting this spring), Arapahoe Road sidepaths to fill sidewalk gaps between Peoria and Jordan, Colorado Boulevard multimodal improvements (right-sizing a five-lane section and adding multimodal facilities between Arapahoe Road and Dry Creek), and Van/Easter operational improvements (a modified displaced-left-turn intersection and other operational upgrades with construction anticipated in 2027). Ant told council the 2022 DRCOG TIP cycle helped secure roughly $28 million for several corridor projects and noted other grant opportunities remain a key funding tool.
Staff emphasized partnerships with neighboring jurisdictions and utilities on corridor work, and invited council to watch the capital program and TMP documents in the budget book and the city dashboard for updated schedules and project pages. Ant said significant updates will come through council presentations and city manager reports as projects move from planning to construction.
