Speaker 2 told the council they had "confirmation from Chris McAnany, our legal counsel, that even though we are making this addition to the zoning code, because the contextual changes are just for the RVs, we held a public hearing on the RVs section. We don't need to hold a separate public hearing for the zoning code." Councilors discussed how the town's recently established building department should replace references to San Juan County on permit and land-use-clearance language.
Members asked staff to: correct repeated references to San Juan County where the town's building department now handles permits; insert appendices in the correct order; and reconcile conflicting housing and demographic statistics in the packet. No formal vote was taken at the work session; staff said they would clean up the document and present it in the meeting packet.
