COPA reports investigations concluded, officer-involved shootings and outreach in Q2

LaConia White, interim chief administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), presented highlights from COPA's quarter-two report at the Chicago Police Board's July 17 meeting. White said COPA participated in training with CPD and continued community outreach across the city.
White reported that COPA recorded 10 officer-involved shootings in the quarter and that 182 investigations were concluded in the period; she said 47 of those included at least one sustained allegation. White added that COPA attended 60 community events across 42 community areas and 33 wards and issued six video releases and transparency postings during the quarter.
