The committee authorized the Dive Rescue team to trade an existing side-by-side in order to acquire a Polaris XP1000 to accommodate stretcher transport and rough-terrain rescues. The committee was told the vehicle costs $20,000 with an $8,000 trade-in; a city grant of $10,000 and the rescue team's fundraising will cover the remainder. The committee voted to authorize the trade and release the older vehicle title.
Separately, staff reviewed the county liability-insurance renewal (which combines cyber, airport and terrorism coverage) and cited a renewal figure in the roughly $665,000 range; the committee moved the renewal forward to the full board for approval.
The committee also reviewed a $13,400 invoice from the health department (west entrance work) and a roughly $36,001.63 total for county office building capital improvements (carpet, stair treads, etc.). Members moved the payment approval for building upgrades to the full board. These items were forwarded to the full board for final approval and appropriation.
