Eric Wagner, planning, building and development director, said staff is already conducting research on the land‑use category, impacts and examples nationally. He said the county’s ordinance does not provide for moratoriums but does allow a temporary 120‑day administrative deferral on applications materially affected by a pending amendment process. Wagner said staff could prepare a future agenda item to outline substantive concerns, regulatory approaches, and procedural options (including administrative deferral) for committee consideration.
Committee members supported staff research and asked that staff bring options, potential ordinance language, and next steps to a future meeting. The committee did not take formal action beyond requesting staff follow‑up.
