Amended FY '26 salary ordinance: Staff said the probation department is no longer part of a labor union and probation officers were added to the nonunion salary ordinance. The committee voted to forward the amended FY '26 salary ordinance to the full board.
Online code of ordinances: Staff proposed contracting with a legal-publishing vendor (American Legal Publishing) to host searchable county ordinances. Estimates provided in committee discussion ranged from several hundred dollars for initial setup to roughly $1,090 for the current year; annual hosting and per-page update fees apply. The committee directed staff to obtain a firm invoice and advanced the item to the full board.
Mileage rate: The committee approved forwarding a 2026 county mileage reimbursement rate of 72.5 cents per mile (an increase of 2.5 cents) to the full board.
Appointments and awards: The committee recommended reappointing Todd Hall to the Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority Board (term 01/2026–01/2029) and accepted a presentation from Hope Trust/Snedeker Risk Management announcing a $2,700 dividend to the county for 2026.
