Effingham County Board approves consent agenda, including SIEDA appointment and ordinances online

At its January meeting, the Effingham County Board approved the consent agenda as presented. Jeremy Daters moved for approval and Sandy Rich seconded. Clerk conducted a roll‑call vote; all voting members answered yes and the chair declared the motion carried.
The consent agenda listed multiple administrative items: approval of minutes and monthly officer reports; bills recommended by the administrative committee; a resolution on personal property replacement tax distribution; an amended fiscal year 2026 salary ordinance; placement of the county code of ordinances online (the chair said a future packet will present a separate comprehensive update of the full ordinance book); adoption of the 2026 mileage rate; and the appointment of Todd Hall to the SIEDA board for a term listed as 01/2026 to 01/2029. The Road and Bridge committee included approval to reply to Block 1 of the Mead Subdivision, and the reports committee approved release of some closed minutes.
The chair clarified that the hosting fee for putting ordinances online will come from the county IT budget. No items were pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion prior to the vote.
