The board discussed eligibility and reporting requirements. A board member asked about the project timeline; Schultz said construction was under way with hoped-for completion around April 15. The board reviewed eligibility limits for hotel/motel funds, noting requests must demonstrate tourism-related impact and may not be used for salaries, general operations, or debt service.
Board members moved to amend the standard 60‑day post-event reporting requirement for this application so Lake Sarah Forever may submit a final report up to one year after project completion. That amendment passed by unanimous voice vote. A subsequent motion to award $12,500 (half of the organization's stated need) was seconded and carried on a roll call vote.
The board directed Christo Schultz to coordinate with county staff (Angie) to complete the post‑award paperwork and said the organization may submit the final report sooner than the one‑year deadline once work is finished.
