Committee liaisons reported progress on several ongoing projects and forthcoming warrant articles.
A library liaison said the renovation is moving into routine work: ductwork removal and asbestos abatement are largely complete, the site fence and sign are installed, masonry removal has been finished and is ready for pointing, and HVAC and plumbing demolition is complete. The liaison said a larger water pipe will need to be installed on a nearby street at a later stage and that public notice will follow for any disruption.
On warrant articles, the Affordable Housing Trust has three articles in draft and its chair, Alan Edinburg, has agreed to meet with the committee on the fifteenth to discuss them. The recreation committee is also exploring another round of proposals for pool work; members said the pool bid process may yield different bids in the off-season and that detailed figures are not yet available.
Members discussed recreational programming after a liaison noted adult golf lessons shown in a recent recreation brochure are being held at a Northborough facility; the committee and recreation liaison said Westborough's course is extensively used for youth lessons and high-school teams, and the adult lessons may reflect joint programming or range constraints at the local course.
Next steps: the committee plans to meet on Monday to hear the Affordable Housing Trust and will invite the trust chair and relevant department staff when warrant articles are ready for review.
