Westborough residents and advocacy groups urge support for BWALT MassTrails match

Ellen Google said her committee voted unanimously to deliver a letter supporting Article 6 and handed copies to the AFC, noting that MassTrails grants have been successfully repurposed in the past and stressing the importance of maintaining momentum for the trail project. She said the town needs roughly $61,000 as the match and cited historical town‑meeting support for BWALT articles, noting past approvals averaged about 82% of votes.
Ken Kelly referenced a letter sent Oct. 1 from David Bumgar (as recorded in the meeting) encouraging support for the warrant article and said David would attend the AFC meeting on Thursday to provide more detailed comment. Committee members acknowledged the short notice of the materials and said the Advisory Finance Committee would hear additional presentations on BWALT at the upcoming meeting.
