Select Board accepts easement at 208 Turnpike Road to extend town path

The Westborough Select Board voted 5‑0 on Nov. 4 to accept an easement on 208 Turnpike Road that will extend an existing pathway from the adjacent 180 Turnpike parcel to Park Street.
Jenny Jengris, the town’s director of planning, told the board the easement "would just continue that easement, onto 208 Turnpike Road, which is where Penta Marketing is currently located." She said the easement follows the back of the property and connects to the town’s planned path network.
Board members asked whether emergency apparatus, ATV patrols or electric bicycles would be permitted on the path. Jengris said fire apparatus would be allowed in an emergency and that bike use — including e‑bikes — would be covered under typical easement language, with more precise rules to be determined later.
The motion to accept the easement was moved and seconded; the board then authorized the town to execute and record the document as required. The chair asked staff to record the easement and make the final document available on the town’s Select Board page.
