AFC elects Prashant Ahuja chair; secretary resigns, minutes approved

The Advisory Finance Committee voted to elect Prashant Ahuja as its new chair during a hybrid meeting held at Memorial Hall and broadcast on Westboro TV. The committee accepted the nomination and confirmed the vote as unanimous.
The outgoing chair, who announced at the start of the session that they would step down, invited nominations after noting that Vice Chair Josh said he could not serve as chair due to work constraints. An unnamed committee member moved to elect Prashant Ahuja, and Bradley seconded; members then voiced support and the motion carried.
Committee members also reported that the board secretary (Laura) had resigned. Kim Foster said an applicant had indicated interest the day after Laura submitted her resignation and that the vacancy would be posted on the town website; in the interim committee members will prepare minutes themselves.
The committee accepted the minutes of Oct. 6 and Oct. 9 by roll call, with members recorded as voting yes including Lundberg, Bradley, Clap, Leslie and others. Members also discussed scheduling upcoming budget conversations with the finance committee, which meets the first Monday of each month.
The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn and a recorded vote in favor.
What happens next: Prashant Ahuja will assume chair duties and committee members will continue coordinating liaison assignments and budget scheduling ahead of the town’s budget deadlines.
