The Select Board on Tuesday authorized the chair to sign a letter of support for Westborough’s 2025–2035 Open Space and Recreation Plan, a document staff said will be used for planning and to secure grant funding.
Recreation Director Jen Kirkland and Conservation Director Jennifer Miller explained the plan’s goals, priorities and public-outreach process; they said the updated plan is now valid for 10 years and includes 10 top priorities identified through stakeholder meetings. The Conservation Commission is also issuing a letter of support and staff will finalize minor administrative edits (committee lists and dates) before submission.
The board briefly discussed committee acknowledgments and agreed staff could make editorial updates without delaying submission. A roll-call vote authorized the chair to sign the support letter; the motion passed 5–0.
What happens next: staff will finalize required letters of support, make agreed edits, and submit the plan package to the state to maintain grant eligibility and planning status.
