The Advisory Finance Committee opened with a public-comment announcement that a member (Adam) submitted a resignation letter effective the next day and that the moderator had identified two candidates and planned to appoint one and swear them in before the next meeting.
The committee then received presentations from the school superintendent and from Sustainable Westborough (see separate articles). Committee administrative business included scheduling January AFC sessions to review the published budget book ahead of the budget summit.
A motion to accept the minutes of Sept. 29, Oct. 14 and Nov. 13 was moved and seconded and carried by roll call (tally recorded as six affirmative votes). The committee later moved to adjourn and recorded a roll-call vote that also carried; the meeting ended at approximately 9:06 p.m.
No appointments were formally voted at this meeting; the moderator said an appointment would be made in the following day and the new member would be sworn in before the next AFC meeting.
